The weekend started a little early Friday with a 4:00 Dinner/Baby Shower with the ladies from work. My friend and co-worker, Brandwyn, hosted a shower for me at Max and Erma’s at Pullman and we had a really nice time. There were 10 of us from our various hospitals and we enjoyed some good food and some yummy cupcakes! I received more cards, gifts, and generous gift card/monetary gifts as well for Delaney. Here are some pics:
On Saturday’s agenda was some shopping with my parents and choosing a stroller. We spent some time at the mall and took our own notes and surveyed the stroller crowd. Larry had just about talked us out of one as we saw a lot of Mommies and Grandmas pushing empty strollers with the toddler walking along beside. Is it useful or a glorified shopping cart? Also of note, Larry made the observance that many kids slept in these strollers while parents shopped till they dropped only later to get into a vehicle exhausted and putting their now awake and rambunctious toddler in a car seat to deal with all their boundless energy when they get home. Larry’s thought, “ make ‘em walk, we’re tired, they should be too”. Well, we didn’t bite on his logic, I figured it was better to have a well-rested toddler than both toddler and adult who wore worn out. So we were off to Target to check out the selection. We’d previously narrowed it down to two jogger type strollers. Not because we jog or plan to, but because of the ruggedness of the tires. So here’s the testing phase . . . at one point there was a grown man in the stroller but Larry would not allow that picture to be taken.

Penny fits in the cargo area but I don't think she's impressed. Hmm, maybe it's not so bad! |
